More Than Just a Scholarship

In today's world, the journey of recovery can often feel like an uphill battle, especially for young people who are trying to rebuild their lives, or for parents that are still financially responsible for their minor child. We strive to not only provide crucial financial assistance through scholarships, but also create opportunities that may seem out of reach. Although we may never be big enough to pay for someones entire treatment stay, we aim to offer help, hope, connections and resources. Our first goal is to be able to provide a youth with a $1,000 scholarship towards their in-patient treatment stay, if nothing else, hopefully this will provide their family with home that in-patient treatment is in fact attainable

The Challenge of Financial Barriers

How many of us have $20,000 just sitting around for a rainy day? The average price of in-patient substance abuse treatment in the U.S ranges from $10,000-$30,000. Chances are, most of us can't pay that, and chances are, if you have a child living with substance abuse, then you are already struggling financially. Parents living with a child that is active in their addiction most likely have extra medical bills, and have probably missed a bunch of work. On top of a crazy, chaotic life that comes with substance use, families now have to deal with financial strain to survive the chaos. Is it realistic for them to be able to afford in-patient treatment? Should someone have to choose between saving their child's life and accruing debt with no way to pay it? Should a child not get treatment because of their economic status? We don't think so.

More Than Just Money

Scholarships offer more than financial assistance; they provide validation and recognition. For young people who have struggled with addiction or mental health issues, being awarded a scholarship can affirm their resilience and potential. Connecting with others who understand their struggles empowers youth in recovery.

Our scholarship will offer families support and relationships that will change their lives and their views on the recovery community forever. The struggle of having your child deal with addiction is extremely issolating, we want to create a family of shoulders to lean on through the addiction of a child, to the recovery, and maybe even through relapse. We will join hands through the process, no matter where the journey takes our recipients.

Impact Stories: Real-life Success

Some day, we hope to have real-life success stories that come from our scholarships! Our dreams are to save the lives of youth, and to save their families. If we can save the life of one child, then we have succeeded.

The Power of Hope

At the core of every scholarship for youth in recovery lies a powerful message: hope. These scholarships symbolize the belief that recovery is achievable, and a brighter future is within reach. They challenge the stigma surrounding addiction, creating an environment where young people can flourish.

By investing in the education and well-being of youth in recovery, society conveys that everyone deserves a second chance. Scholarships foster an atmosphere of understanding, compassion, and collaboration.

How Can You Contribute?

If you're inspired by the potential of scholarships for youth in recovery, think about ways to contribute. Donations, volunteering your time, or raising awareness can create ripples of change.

Of course, policy change, big pharma change and insurance corporation change are crucial to making treatment available to everyone. Take a stand, join the fight. You never know when it will be your own child, nephew, neice or grandchild that you are fighting to save.

Whether you're providing financial support or sharing your knowledge, your involvement can help empower youth on their recovery journeys. Together, we can break down barriers and build a brighter future for these young individuals.

Do you have connections? Do you have ideas? Input? Please feel free to spread the word about Jordans From Jaiden, to advocate for change, and to help us develop ongoing relationships to help fund our scholarships.
