On the anniversary of Jaiden's death every year we hate the world. We are sad, we are miserable, and we binge eat a “fuck fentanyl” cake. Although this helps us in our misery, we decided that it is not doing Jaiden’s name and memory justice. We decided that the anniversary of his death will be our day to drown in our pity, but on his birthday, we will celebrate his life by doing something positive and giving back. Jaiden took great pride in giving back to anyone that he felt was struggling. We recall times going into target and Jaiden running back to the car to dig for change to give to the unhoused person sitting on the corner. We felt like this was special for a 15-year-old boy. Through many hours of hard work, networking, and community support, we were able to make 100 care packets to give out to unhoused individuals in Reno on Jaiden’s birthday this year. On May 23rd 2025 Jaiden changed our lives once again by giving us the most humbling experience of our lives. We spoke to people, we looked people in the eyes, and we shook hands. We left the river different people that day. We have decided that as an organization, the unhoused population will be a target of our community outreach and community service. We also consider that it is very likely that at some point in Jaiden’s addiction he may have ended up along the river, so it is especially important for us to let people know that someone cares and that they are loved. This coming July 26th we will be handing out peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches (our biggest hit in May), Narcan, and ice-cold water to unhoused individuals in Washoe County. If you would like to contribute, please let us know! We are trying to do community outreach with our own money to pay homage to Jayden and to use the organization money first scholarships. Please reach out if you would like to get involved!
